A leading Gastroenterologist both in Israel and Internationally. Former head of the department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Meir Medical Center. He is a full professor (emeritus) of medicine and former incumbent of the Josefina Maus and Gabriela Cesarman Chair for Research in Liver Diseases, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University. He headed the Minerva center for gallstones and lipid metabolism of the liver at Tel Aviv University.
